The Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of AzerbaijanThe Ministry of Economic Development was established with the Decree No. 475 dated April 30, 2001 of former President Heydar Aliyev. The Ministry of Economic Development is the central executive body that carries out the state policy and regulation in the fields of development of economic policy, economic and social predictions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, different spheres of economy including development of industry, structure and innovation in the economy of the country, investment activities, attracting and promoting investment and investing, development of and government support for entrepreneurship, preserving, development and promotion of competition, elimination of unfair competition, protection of consumers rights, internal trade, international economic and commercial relations, social and economic development of regions, housing and communal economy. The Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established on the basis of Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan following the Presidential Decree dated October 22, 2013. Following Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 15, 2016, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established on the basis of the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan is Shahin Mustafayev.
