Barda tower is located in Barda region. The Barda tower is also known as Nushabe tower. According to the information from different sources, the Barda tower was constructed by member of famous Ajemi architecture school Ahmed Ibn Ayyub Al Hafiz from Nakhchivan in 1322. The radius of round form tower is 60 meters; the height is 13 meters; the width of the walls is 80 centimeters. There is much information about the Barda tower in the works of many travelers. It is known that the tower had been destroyed in the time of Mongols’ invasion and then restored. The traveler of XIII century Hemdullah Qezvini in his "Nuzhet el Gulub" work mentions that the tower had been constructed by Macedonian Alexander BC. He also mentioned that the tower had been renovated in the times of Sasanid ruler Firuz. Nizami Ganjavi also described the Barda tower in his “Iskendername” work. Last time, the renovation works carried out in 1958 changed the design of the castle.
