M.A.Sabir’s tomb – Deceased M.A.Sabir’s (1862-1911) tomb is located in “Seven cupolas” cemetery in Shamakhy. The beautiful mausoleum has been constructed above the tomb. The mausoleum raised above the tomb has got the 6-angled form. Its entrance door and the windows are arch formed. The mausoleum was covered with the 6-cornered colored cupola. Alakbar Zeynalabdin oghly Tahirzada (Sabir) is the founder of Azerbaijani satire. He had studied in the Moslem ecclesiastical school till 12 years, and then continued his education in the modern school of Said Azim Shirvani. He has lived very hard and full of financial difficulties life. He took care of the family (10 persons) by making soap. He was performing his satiric poems in “Molla Nasreddin” magazine with J.Mammadguluzada and in other press organs of the period. After his death his wife with the assistance of his friends have collected all his poems in “Hophopnama” and published it. By the way, “Hop-hop” was the poet’s mostly used nickname.
