Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi Sepulcher Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi Sepulcher, more commonly known among the people as “Dervish turbesi” (sepulcher of dervish), is located on the south part of middle yard of the Complex Shirvanshahs Palace. Some experts claim mistakenly that this sepulcher belongs to Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi. According to historians, Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi was one of the scholars of the palace during the reign of Khalilullah I. He was born in Shamakhi city. In his youth Yahya Bakuvi was the follower of Sheikh Sadraddin sect. After the death of Sheikh Sadraddin he moved to Baku and lived here until his death. According to some authors, he died in 862 AH. Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi’s 30 works have been saved up to date. These works have mainly a Sufism and mystic character and are kept in “Muradiyya” library in Manisa city, Turkey. The sepulcher is located in the complex that is the foundation of Kei-Gubad Mosque. It is necessary to note that there were not any inscriptions on the sepulcher or any tombstones inside the sepulcher about who this sepulcher belonged to. The sepulcher is notable for the tenderness of its structure. This small octagonal sepulcher was constructed with consummate skill. Pyramid-like surfaces of the cupola were constructed a little protuberantly to give a beautiful appearance to the sepulcher. The height is 7.5 meters. It is consisted of two parts: underground and overhead. The walls were constructed with repeated dark and light stones and this gives colorful view to the surfaces. The sepulcher has three windows decorated with finely hewed stone lattices.
