The caravanserai was built in the 15th century. According to sources, it was given to Gasim Bey and his descendants for use by Shirvanshah I Halilullah. The caravanserai has two open entrances. Access to the caravanserai is possible from the coastal street adjacent to the sea trade and from the section of the trade route. According to the internal plan of the quarter there is a square. The internal area is eight, with a backyard and a courtyard surrounded by a gate.

Dome coverings of rooms and balconies are of crossed shape. Corner rooms have small domes. The entrances to the caravan, the building slabs at the height of the building and the ceilings on the first floor are not completed. From the south-west, the caravanserai is protected by corner fortresses. It also shows its security in the system of city walls.
