Khanbaba bath – is based in Mardakan and dates back to Shirvanshahs’ period. It was built by the local inhabitant in about 1482-83. This monument which is called as Khanbaba bath among people, is supposed to have been built in Shirvanshahs’ period, and be of the same age with Tuba Shahi mosque. The bath was repaired, the doors were removed, and the door places were raised up in the XIX century. Hot water was equipped via faience pipes made of clay here for taking a bath before. They were removed and replaced with iron pipes in the XIX century. It was called as “Khanbaba bath” in honor of Khanbaba who had worked as a bath keeper here for a long time. Though the door of the bath is closed, the scripts written with Arabic, Russian and Cyrillic alphabets, the memory of the Soviet period are still being preserved on the wall in the right part.
