Bathhouse of Tahmazovs The bathhouse of Tahmazovs is a historical monument dating back to the end of XVIII century and beginning of XIX century. It was built by well-known architect Surakhanian Albanda. This bathhouse was built using specially hewed stones. Interior architectural style, ornaments were taken into consideration during the construction. Cupola, heating stone slabs laid down on the ground and inner smoke-duct prove that it is an ancient bathhouse. There were private cabins in the bathhouse. In front of the bathhouse there was a special hothouse. Pond for warm water was located inside the bathhouse and pool of bathhouse was located in the center. According to the rules, women could use the bathhouse on Mondays and Thursdays, men could us it the other remaining days. Those who came to take a bath would lie down and rest on heated stone slabs. This was the best way to prevent various joint diseases. Water in the bathhouse flowed through gutters, not pipes. This historical monument was in the balance of Bathhouse-Laundry Trust in Soviet times. Supporting parts of the bathhouse were reconstructed by Bathhouse-Laundry Trust in Soviet times. Today the bathhouse is not in service. The bathhouse of Tahmazovs is listed as historical and cultural monument by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
