Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society – The building of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Societywas constructed in 1912 year as the “summer building for the social meetings” project. After formation of the Soviet authority in Azerbaijan in 1920 year ensembles, orchestras and music amateurs carrying out activity in retail have gathered in this building. On May 25, 1936 year like in other countries of SSRU (CIS) in Azerbaijan also the Philharmonic Society was created. In 1936-37 years the reconstruction works have been carried out in the building. The State Philharmonic Society was created on May 25, 1936 year. On August 11, 1947 year with the decision number 5021 of the Council of National Commissars AK (B) MK was asked to give Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society the name of Honored Art worker – Muslum Magomedovich Magomayev for externalization the name of the composer. Since that same year Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society plays irreplaceable role in cultural life of our republic. Philharmonic society is the unique center of propaganda of national and classic musicians. This grandiose concert organizing building, which is pleasure to the hearts of music lovers, didn’t carry out activity in 1996 year during the restoration works. After 8 years of interval the repair works in the building were over. On January 27, 2004 year after 8 month’s repair by the efforts and wish of the deceased president H.Aliyev it was g solemnly handed over to the audience. The president Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Culture Polad Bulbuloghly, world while known cello master Mstislav Rostropovich, Azerbaijan People’s artist, professor Farhad Badalbayli have participated in the opening ceremony.
