Enig CastleThere is a very good view of the Salavat mountain pass from the Enig Castle. The castle is 1100 meters high from the sea level. It is located in the right shore of the Gusarchay River, on high hill which has natural obstacles, in the Enig village of Gusar district. Architect has successfully used all opportunities of the relief for better providing the defence ability of the castle. The castle had been constructed in the south part of a giant hill with precipices. Only two remainders have remained safe from this grandiose fortification. Length of the first reminder’s wall is 15-16 ms. But the second is a remainder is the tower of the corner gate. The width of the wall is about 2 ms, the diametr of the tower is 6 ms. The height of the remainders is from 5.8 to 9.3 ms. The building was constructed from rock and river stones (J.E.Khalilov, 1962). According to Georgian "Chronograph" (XIV century), the Anig castle was destroyed in 1288.
