Surkhay khan castle - Located in Yukhary Philphilli village of Oghuz region, the right-angled castle is situated on a high hill cliff. The walls are 1 m wide and approximately 10 m high. It is mainly built from river stones and bricks. Unfortunately, castle walls have been destroyed from several parts. The castle had a secret way to get rid of encirclement and to get connected with the surroundings secretly. Underground water-piping system has also been constructed. Due to this system, in case of an attack, castle inhabitants were able to organize a durable defense. Ruins of the houses in the castle surroundings still remain. It was constructed by a feudal- lord from Daghestan - Surkhay khan in the 18th century and was destroyed during Nadir Shah"s attack to Daghestan and Azerbaijan.
