There is “Zagatala” wall the length of which is about some kilometers and which was constructed in the V-VII centuries in the territory of Balakan region. Most part of the walls of the castle have fallen in. But there are areas where the walls and towers still exist. A board indicating that the castle is protected by state has been hung on the walls of the castle. One of the neglected towers is situated on Baku-Balakan highway, in the area of Katekh village. The tower is said to be 1300 years old.
