Haram (Girkhotag) Castle - The castle is located in a very picturesque territory on the right bank of Haram River near Sulut village of Ismailly region. The castle is also called "Girkhotag" ("Forty rooms") or "Girkhgiz" ("Forty maids") Castle among local population. The monument built from alabaster solution has been kept quite well. The walls of the monument have survived entirely up to now. Though called "Girkhotag" ("Forty rooms"), the castle has more than forty rooms. Large corridors are seen clearly. It is said that Shirvan rulers (called "Khans") used to keep a beautiful girl (harem) in each of these rooms. It is believed that "Haram"("forbidden") Castle was a Harem Castle as well. Until Sulut village it is possible to go by car. Then the car should be replaced with a horse or it is better to go on foot enjoying the magnificent nature of Ismailly.
