The monuments-towers in Baku, and generally, in the territory of Absheron are also valuable material-cultural samples from the point of view of their history and significance. A number of valuable historical-architectural monuments have been detected in Shagan. Among them, we can mention four-towered castle (currently one of the towers of the castle is safe) with the height of 24 metres that has been constructed in late XII, early XIII centuries. Though one part of the tower has been ruined, another part has been kept up to our time. Shagan tower that dates back to the XII-XIII centuries has been built of white stone like other towers in Absheron, and for the purpose of defense.
