Mingachevir water storehouse – in the place of Kur River crossing Bozdag, Mingachevir water storehouse was put into operation in 1953 year. At the normal filling level of water (83 m), common water capacity is 15730 mln m3, and the useful volume is 8210 mln m3. The water storehouse’s length along the river is 70 km, the width changes from 3 km (in the dam) to 18 km (in the place of rushing into Alazan River). The maximum depth is 75 m, middle depth – 26 m, length of the shore line – 247 km, and the area of the water mirror is 605 km2. The length from the top of Mingachevir water storehouse is 1550 m; the width – 16 m, the height – 80 m. Upper Qarabagh and Upper Shirvan canals get water from the Mingachevir water storehouse. The water storehouse is also used for fishing, water supply and for the reaction purposes. The water-electric Station (WES), consisting of 6 hydro-agregates with common power of 371 thousand kvt, was build in the dam of Mingachevir water storehouse. After putting into exploitation the Mingachevir water storehouse was completely filled only in 1959, 1963, 1968, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1978 and 1988 year.
