National Flag Square of the Republic of AzerbaijanNational Flag Square is a memorial monument-leisure complex located in Bayil settlement, Baku. It was opened on September 1, 2010. The area of the upper part of the Square is 3 ha, the total area is 60 ha. Here the national symbols – coat of arms, text of national anthem, and map of the Azerbaijan Republic made of gilded bronze are installed. In the center of the Square, the National Flag of the Azerbaijan Republic is installed. The height of the flagpole is 162 meters, the diameter of its base is 3.2 meters, the upper part of the base is 1.09 meters. Total weight of the installation is 220 tons. The width of the flag is 35 m, the length is 70 m, total area is 2450 sq. m. and it weighs around 350 kg. On May 29, 2010, Guinness World Records confirmed the pole of National Flag of Azerbaijan to be the tallest flagpole in the world. In National Flag Square also functions National Flag Museum.
