The president of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony of the park named after people"s writer Ismail Shykly and of his statue in Heydar Aliyev Avenue in the city center of Kazakh on May 30, 2007. The place of the statue has a story: "After the wild burn of Baghanis-Ayrim village by the Armenian vandals some people decided to move from Kazakh. They wanted to move their families to a safe place. Upon this, Ismail Shykly came to Kazakh. He seated himself in a chair looking at the faces of the people around him and without saying a word. Serving to the purpose, those dumb looks actually said more than words and obviated the concern to move to another place". Today, Shykly"s statue is in the place of the chair on which once he seated. The construction of the monument and park was started in 2006. The statue of the prominent writer has been erected on a facet pedestal of 4.2 m height. The park environs 1.2 hectares area.
