State Flag of the Azerbaijan Republic (Yasamal) – The flag was constructed in 2008 in the park situated in Yasamal district of Baku city. Earlier this park was named after G. Musabayov. And there was the grandiose bust of G. Musabayov shaved of stone on the flag’s place. In 2007 reconstruction works have been carried out in the park and the bust was taken away. And on its place Azerbaijani flag is fluttering. The height of the flags post is about 30 metres. Three-coloured national flag has been accepted with decision of the government of Azerbaijan People Republic in Azerbaijan on November 9, 1918. The National flag of the Azerbaijan Republic consists of three equal wide horizontal stripes. Upper stripe is of the blue colour, middle stripe is red, and the bottom stripe is green. The blue colour expresses belonging of the Azerbaijani people to the Turkish; the red colour means – building the modern society, desire to develop democracy; the green colour shows belonging to Islam civilization. The half-moon with the eight-pointed star has been described with white colour in the middle of the red stripe on both sides of the flag. Relation of the flag’s width to length is 1:2.
