Statue of Aliagha Vahid Vahid, successor of Fizuli’s traditions, is the outstanding representative of gazal genre in Azerbaijani literature. Simplicity of poetic language of gazals is characterized with its national roots and harmony and occupies an important place in the repertoire of singers. The gazals of Nizami, Fuzuli, Navoi, and others have been converted into Azerbaijani. Aliagha Vahid’s statue is aesthetically the most beautiful monument in Baku. The phenomenon that makes the statue so beautiful is the human figures on it. Sculpture was installed in 1990, but not at present site, at the present Philharmonic Garden. Now the statue is near the rear entrance of the Icheri Sheher metro station of the Old City. The author of the statue is Rahib Hasanov. Author"s explanation to why he made such a different, as pleasant as its difference is the following: "All of a sudden, I thought to myself, how do we think about things? We use our head to think of both good things and evil things. I had to dig that out. Thus, I started working on that idea. "
