Ujar district juma mosque – The mosque is situated in the centre of Ujar district. Its initial history concerns to the beginning of the XX century. This same mosque has been destroyed in 1953 year. After this, the new mosque has been constructed by the means of the local people. This mosque carried out activity till 1977 year and later on was closed and used as the warehouse. In 1989 year under the command of Rahim Mutallimov the new mosque’s construction began. The present mosque is carrying out activity since 1990 year. The mosque project’s author is Durghunov from Sheky. Its inside area I 15x26 metres. The walls of Ujar district juma mosque, which has the right-angled form, have been completely worked out with the burnt bricks. The mosque doesn’t have any minarets; its cupola has been worked out with the layer iron from the facade. Its diameter is 7 metres. The cupola was also connected with four arches. Its floor is made of marble, and the ceiling is wooden. The height of the ceiling from the floor is 8,5 metres. The sanctuary (with the height of 5 metres) is inside of the wall and has the arched form. The eight-staged pulpit is made of wood.
