The mosque is situated in the centre of Absheron region – Khyrdalan. It was constructed in 1263 year by hijra-lunar calendar (the middle of the XIX century). The main praying hall’s area is 12x15 metres. Khyrdalan district mosque’s walls have been built with the stones. The sanctuary is built with the planed stones. The sanctuary’s height is 4 metres. Its pulpit is made of walnut-tree, it is seven-staged and 1324 year by hijra-lunar calendar (beginning of the XX century) is shown as the date on it. As it’s given in the other information, the pulpit was built by the master Haji Abdulbagi Haji Huseyn Ali. The mosque’s roof is placed on the big columns made of big plate stones. The columns are conjoined with the arches. The women section of the mosque is placed on the first floor. Its area is 4x12 metres. Khyrdalan district mosque’s height till the roof is 7 metres, and from the floor till the cupola is 12 metres. The cupola’s diameter is 4 metres. Kalmeyi-tayyube (La ilaha illallah, Muhammadan Rasulallah, Aliyyan Valiyullah) was written on the round part of the cupola. Let’s note, that these words are repeated five times on the cupola. 4 windows have been put in the cupola. The windows have been worked out with the ornaments and coloured glasses. The mosque’s minaret has been built recently. Its height is 32 metres. Let’s mention, that this mosque has had the minaret formerly. But it was destroyed in 1937 year and its materials have been used in the school’s construction. This mosque was used as the warehouse during the soviet times. After the Soviet was departed the repair works have been carried out in here and the mosque’s activity has been restored.
