The mosque is located in Garaman village of Goychay region. The inner the area is 16x16 meters; the backyard area is 2000 square meters. This is the construction history of the mosque: Haji Rahim Efendi from Alhoud village of Goychay region made a journey to Turkey in 1889. He saw grandiose Mosques and worship houses there and decided to build a mosque in his homeland. He comes back to his country in 1891 and with the help of local people, begins the construction of the mosque in Garaman village. The opening ceremony of the mosque with the participation of village people and him personally, was held in 1891. His ultimate goal in opening the Mosque was creating a worship house for Moslems, providing children with theology and knowledge of Islamic sciences. The Mosque built by Haji Rahim Efendi was the only Mosque in Goychay region, which had a distinctive architecture style. Unfortunately, the Mosque came to a bad condition in the Soviets time. It had been used as a storehouse and had not been taken care for a long time. Only because of the firm architecture quality, the Mosque was not ruined and remained until now. The Mosque building is being restored at the expense of Haji Rahim Efendi’s grandchild Elkhan Suleymanov at present. The Mosque has a 16-meter high minaret. The minaret was built with burnt bricks. However, its construction was not complete and remained incomplete. The Mosque roof was covered with iron layer. All doors and windows have right-angled form.
