Karlar station Sayid Ahmad mosque is located on the Karlar station of Kurdamir district. Its construction began in 1990 year and it was put into use in 1994 year. Its yard side area is 1500 square metres, and inside area is 17x22 metres. The mosque was built with the cubic stones. It has two entrance doors. The doors have the arched form. The roof and the cupola are covered with the iron. The pulpit is made of iron and is five-staged. Its floor and the ceiling are concreted. The walls have been plastered with the sand-cement solution. The main praying hall was separated on the women and men sections. The mosque’s height from the floor to the ceiling is 4 metres. And the height of the cupola from the floor is 8 metres. The mosque has double minarets, their height is 14 metres. These minarets made of iron pipes have one balcony. The mosque was built with the initiative of the local inhabitants Mashadi Sarioglan Tagioglu, Mashadi Kheyrulla Jarioglu, Mashadi Gulabbas Mirabbasoglu, Elman Mammadhuseyn and deceased Eynulla Bakhshalioglu. Let’s note that the same people were the masters of the mosque. At present it is named after Shamakhy citizen Sayid Ahmad.
