And what about the mosque’s construction date, we can note that this building was the Albanian historical memorial and doubtless it belongs to pre-Islam period. This praying-house carried out activity as the Islam holy place in the period of spreading Islam. In the period of Khalifa Omar ibn Khattab its activity became wider. As the result of propagandizing Islam part of the Albanians accepted Islam. At the same time the local Albanians reconstructed the Christian praying house and turned it into a mosque. In former times there were the minarets on the mosque-monument’s roof. These minarets with the height of 5-6 metres have been destroyed later. At present the place of these minarets is reminding. The mosque has been used as the warehouse in the Soviet period. Under the command of the first secretary of those times H. Hasanov the repair-reconstruction works have been carried out in here and the mosque turned into the Nations’ Friendship Museum. In 1989 year the museum was abolished and with the decision of the local Administrative Personnel in 1995 year the mosque started carrying out activity. The mosque was registered in the Ministry of Justice. The mosque’s praying hall consists of 8 arches. The ceiling is placed on 6 slab stone columns. The columns’ height is 2,5 metres.
