Juma Mosque – Veliyullah Mosque is located in the centre of Imishli city. The mosque building was built in 1991-1994. However, its foundation was laid by Haji Khanhuseyn, the head of the executive authority of the region in 1987. The backyard area is 3000 square meters; it was thoroughly covered with stone plates. The mosque also has stone fence. The area of the main worship hall is 15x15 meters. There are two more worship halls in right and left sides of the main worship hall. Their areas are 6x28 meters. The Mosque has specific and distinctive architecture; it has been worked in a distinguished form. A pear of minarets built with cubical stone, increases the grandeur of the Mosque even more. The tower part of the minarets has also been worked with stone; symbols of half-moon and eight-pointed star were placed on them. The minarets are covered with stone plates; the lower part of the minarets has right-angled and the upper part of the minarets has round form. The minarets have single balcony; the balconies had been worked with stones. The lower part of the balcony was worked with three layers of stalactites. The height of the minarets is 27 meters. Finely worked main entrance attracts attention instantly. The diameter of the cupola of the Mosque is 15 meters; the cupola is adorned with 16 arched windows. The sanctuary is made of wood and has six steps. The thickness of the Mosque walls is one meter. The floor and the ceiling of the Mosque building had been worked with concrete.
