Mahammad Sadig’s sanctuary – is based in Bulbula village of Baku. This ruined architectural monument is one of the sacred places. As is known, the grave of the fifth imam Mahammad Bagir’s grandson Mahammad Sadig has been here. Currently there is only one script which is the memory from sanctuary complex and it is demonstrated in an open exhibition in front of the Maiden tower in Baku. This inscription has been written in Arabic with smooth handwriting and it says: “Sheikh Kamal’s son Sheikh Najmaddin has ordered to build this big monument during the time of the mighty sultan Shah Abbas al-Huseyni. 1033 (1623-1624)”. The sanctuary complex consists of 4 buildings. The ceiling of the tomb building that has a rectangular plan and where the child of the sacred imam has been buried, had been covered partially with conical roof and partially with dome. There had been a stone sanduga (2 to 10 to 0,73 meters) on the grave. The plan of the second room which was entered from the door opened by the East wall of the tomb, had been rectangular. And there had been 3 graves where the imam’s servants had been buried. Both tombs had been spread with carpets, the graves had been covered and decorated with gonfalons. There had been a mosque building (8,77 to 9,55 m.) adjacent with the North wall of the tomb. The ceiling of the mosque had been covered with a dumb standing on 4 columns and arches. Though the tomb building of Bulbula sanctuary has been established in the XII-XIII centuries, later on reconstruction works have been carried out here. Finally, we should mention that this sanctuary complex was destroyed in 1937.
