The Mosque is located in the ancient part of the settlement. The Mosque building has been built by Ali bey Ashurbayov in 1897. The inner area of the praying hall of the Mosque is 16x19 meters; the thickness of the walls built of cut stone flags is one meter. The Mosque had been used for different purposes (such as storehouse, workshop) in 1937-1992; two times it has undergone fire. Restoration works are carried out in the Mosque since 1992. The Juma Mosque of Sabunchu settlement used to have two floors; the worship hall is quite large. The thickness of the columns in the ground floor used to be 2.5 meters; the columns were built of stone flags. The columns are connected to each other with 12 arches. The sanctuary is located in the central part of the Mosque; its height is five meters. The height from the floor to cupola is ten meters. The diameter of the cupola is six meters. A very attractive luster (the weight is about 450 kilograms) especially decorates the worship hall. The sanctuary of the Mosque was made by master Abbas. Repair and restoration works are carried out here since 1992 up to this day. The on construction work overseer is İgdam the son of Alifahmy; Mahammadkarim the son of Mahammadtagi is the person who holds the Mosque restore and repair works.
