Education MuseumSoviet of People’s Commissars of Azerbaijan SSR made adopted Decision No. 651 dated April 27, 1932 on creation of “People’s Education Museum”. Permanent exposition of the museum is placed in 6 halls. The first hall cover the period from the ancient times till second half of XIX century, the second hall covers the period from second half of XIX century till the beginning of XX century, the third hall covers the period of 1918-1940 years of the education of Azerbaijan. A special section is dedicated to the education during Azerbaijan People’s Republic in here. The fourth hall is devoted to training of specialist with university and college degree and improvement of professional skills. The fifth hall demonstrates documents and materials related to the education in 1941-1980 years, particularly to the development history of technical vocation training, as well as children’s home, boarding-schools and evening schools for workers and youth. The sixth hall – big hall is dedicated to the development of education in recent years of independence and consisted of three sections. The attention and care for education provided by the state and government of Azerbaijan is the main direction of the exposition of this hall. The first section of the hall named “Heydar Aliyev and education” is devoted to the works of Heydar Aliyev in this field. The activities of Heydar Aliyev Foundation within “New school for Renewing Azerbaijan” and “Education Support” projects are also demonstrated in this section.In the second section of the hall are exhibited documents and materials, statistical data, new textbooks, models, and other exhibits on the activities of new educational system of our country during the years of independence. A special room is provided in this section for the documents reflecting the work and international relations of Ministry of Education. Documents and materials exhibited in the third section are devoted to extra-scholastic establishments, patriotic, moral and aesthetic bringing up of children, teenagers and youth.There are 31741 exhibits in the fund of the museum and about 2000 of them are demonstrated in the exposition.
