The House-Museum of Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich The house-museum of the prominent musicians was created in 1998 and opened in 2002. The house-museum of Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich is located in the house where world-fame cellist with great personality Mstislav Rostropovich was born and spent his childhood. Materials reflecting the childhood, youth and years of activities of Mstislav Rostropovich are exhibited in the exposition of the museum. The exposition of the museum is composed of two parts. In the first part, atmosphere of that age and climate of the house where the Rostropovich family lived are reflected. The letter addressed to Mstislav by his father, Leopold Rostropovich is among the exhibits shown in the museum. This letter had always been a moral support for Mstislav Rostropovich. In the second part of the exposition, the most important moments of life and activities of Mstislav Rostropovich and at the same time, materials proving his relations with Baku are exhibited. There are films about Mstislav Rostropovich, audio cassettes and discs recorded with performance of maestro.
