Magnificent platan rises in the right side of Kolayir - Red Samukh highway. And a mineral spring is purling in the left. Drinking water from the spring we turn to the 1500-years-old branchy platan; the memory of the centuries. Local people say that the fourth caliph Ali ibn Abu Talib visited Samukh as a result of victory march of the Islam. He stopped his horse "Duldul" in the shadow of this tree. They show the sign of a horseshoe in the bottom of the venerable platan. The name "Duldul" is connected with this story. It can easly outshadow a many-storeyed building. Diameter of this "Green Umbrella" is more than 20 m. The platan renews itself as the years and the centuries pass. New shootses and branches replace the old ones on the giant body of the platan. 1500-years-old "Dul-Dul" platan has become an attractive place and a pilgrimage for people. Local population visits the tree and makes wishes by tying kerchiefs and ribbons around the platan. The venerable platan has maintained its posture for centuries in spite of the influx of people and prank of the nature. "Duldul" is not alone here. There are seven more platans next to it. Interesting is that the graves of seven martyrs are also close by.
