One of the quite interesting monuments is the tomb in Jijimli village of Lachin region which is known as the tomb “Malikajdar”. The main difference of this tomb is namely in its shape. Though it is octagonal by its design, the tomb of Jijimli is not like a geometric shape from outside, it is comprehended as an entirely different plastic form. Because the walls of the tomb have not been worked with vertical lines, the arrises of the monument have been decorated with a curved line, the silhouette of the tomb has been framed with thin lines. The general form of the tomb of Jijimli reminds of the parabola. The arrises between the surfaces of this parabola have been decorated with engraved projections; as a result, the general view of the monument reminds of the dwelling structure widely spread among nomad, Turkish people.
Thus, this monument depart from traditional octagonal tomb by architectural character, and we see the formation of an entirely individual architectural image. It is not surprising at all that its general view, image reminds of the domicile of nomad peoples. The connection between dwellings and other buildings, especially memorial buildings in origin is an occurrence that is met in the history of architecture, that is, a widely-spread occurrence. One more interesting peculiarity of the tomb of Jijimli is hewn stone engravings above its entrance door and on the right and left sides of the entrance door. It has been revealed that these stone engravings depict an ox in each 3 cases. These ox images drawn in considerably expressive position, enriches the artistic of the monument much more and at the same time, it shows that animal images in have spread in Azerbaijan more widely than we supposed up to now. As there is no inscription on Jijimli monument, it is very hard to say exactly when it has been built. I.Sheblikin who first saw and issued Jijimli monument, notes the relation of this building to Saljugis time, and this dates its history to approximately XII or early XIII century.
