Barda Tomb is one of the most valuable monuments of Azerbaijan architecture of the middle ages; without exaggeration it is possible to say that it was one of the most destroyed monuments. But restoration work on the construction had been done in 60th and the monument restored its previous look.

The external diameter of the Tomb body is 10 meters; the height of the whole part is 14 meters (the distance between the upper cover and the cupola is not counted). The monument consists of an underground tomb and the inner tomb with doors. The tomb has a form which is traditional and popular for that time: there are four deep cross form niches connected to the quadrangle at the centre. The inside structure of the ground-based part of the monument is especially interesting. The lower part of the building has a form of a pipe; starting from 2 meters till 8.7 meters height it is turned to decagonal. At the very top the decagonal circle is formed. The tomb"s walls were covered by figural placed simple and glazed bricks. Also, glazed brick cover the tower body repeating the word "Allah". Simple red bricks have been placed in a horizontal line and glazed bricks – in a vertical line. The architect paid great attention to the tomb arch’s rich ornament. So, both arches have edges decorated with Kufic inscriptions and ornaments. The inside area of the border was completely illustrated with geometrical figures and glazed ornament.

From the safe twofold parallel wall remainders of the monument and its similarity with other tombs it is clear that the tomb top cover is twofold.

The tomb"s ornament consists of ornaments and different shaped inscriptions. The content and the structure of the inscriptions are different. The meaning of writings on the pieces of inscriptions that remained safe was studied and it could be said that were totally explained. The only completely destroyed inscription is located on the south portal bay. It is supposed that a private name was written here to whom the tomb had been dedicated. From the inscriptions it was made clear that the tomb was built by architect Ahmad the son of Eyyub from Nakhichivan in 1322.
