Mir Ali temple – Mirali temple in Fizuli district being the architecture memorial is concerned to the XIV century. This stone temple in Ashaghy Veyselli village consists of narrow cylindrical hull, placed on the three-staged pedestal, and the cone type cupola completing it. As the fact, this ancient temple being unique example of the middle ages with its architecture form and the cupola, really was a miracle and maybe that’s why it was idolized and changed into respected sacred place. Even if it’s not known exactly whom it belongs and which architect it was constructed by, this ancient memorial example in Azerbaijan was the unique and very interesting and important from the scientific point of view. The temple was completely built with the shaved white stones. The portal framing the arch formed entrance door was placed on the north side of it. The portal was extracted from the wall surface. The internal construction of both underground and the above ground parts of Mirali temple is generally typical for bullet type monuments. One of the aspects attracting attention in here is that there is no external way to the underground part and there are stairs between above ground part and the tomb from inside. This is the unique example in Azerbaijan temples. The internal structure of the temple is two-storey, it consists of underground tomb and the above ground chamber. The tomb has the cross form and is connected with the upper chamber. The central square part of the tomb was covered with the spherical cupola and its protuberances – with the sharp arches. The upper part of the tomb had the round form and was covered with the spherical cupola in the plan. The cupola was constructed on the simple profiled cornice. There is one door from the north and one small window from the south in the upper chamber. The peephole is placed on about 2 metres height from the earth surface. There is the small alter arch face-to-face with the door under the window hole. The stone works have been carried out more qualitative in the tombs interior. Raised on the hill Mir Ali tomb has got very delicate composition. The high cylindrical corps was placed on the three-staged low platform. The corps was covered with the cone type cupola. Mir Ali tomb’s dynamic composition raised above the hill looks very effective because of its logical arrangement of simple volumes. Even if there is no inscription above it, the construction techniques and volume-space composition prove that it was constructed in the end of XIII – beginning of the XIV centuries, during the period of Elkhani.
Because of its location near the road, for centuries those who moved to the summer houses in the mountains and back to the plains have scrapped different signs and drawings on its walls. All this is also very important from the historical point of view. Mirali temple had very big importance in investigating Azerbaijan tower type temples.
