According to the local people, Nardaran pir dates back to the VIII century by Christian calendar. This pir-complex is based in the North part of Nardaran village. Hazrat imam Rza’s sister Rahima’s grave is based in the pir. He is one of the children of the prophet who came to Azerbaijan during the rule of Harun ar-Rashid and Mamun. According to the inhabitant of the village Haji Adalat Alizada, Rahima has been the guest of the local inhabitant Seyid Yusif aga. She has come to this village together with her family, lived here and was buried just here. But later on Pir where Rahima’s grave is based, has been ruined in connection with natural events. That is, a gap appeared in the North part of the village in the XIII-XIV centuries as a result of the reflux of the Caspian sea and the surface of the grave was covered with the sand brought by the North winds. But excavation works were started here with the initiative of the inhabitant of the village Sheikh Yunis at the beginning of the century and the sanctuary was reconstructed. After Azerbaijan gained independence, the inhabitants of Nardaran village carried out reconstruction works here under the direction of Haji Hafiz, and the current pir-complex was given to the authority of devouts. This new building was began on mevlit day of the prophet in 1994. And the construction works are carried out by the local masters. The mosque is two-storey, the ground floor is kept as a sanctuary. The inside area of the mosque is 30x17 metres, the height is 26 metres. The height of each of the four minarets in the mosque is 41 metres. The diameter of the domb is 17 metres, and the height is 16 metres. The main praying hall of the mosque has two domes. Currently the construction of the building comprised of two parts and intended for Huseyniyya is being continued in Nardaran pir-complex. We should mention that 1500 devouts may visit Nardaran sanctuary simultaneously.
