TekiyeThe place where the dervishes worship is called Tekiye. Tekiye is located in the Old City and is a monument of national importance. Takiye, built in the XIII century, has mainly functioned as a neighborhood mosque. Takiye’s façade looks to the south - the Maiden Tower. The extraordinary plan of Takiye made up of a single premise, as well as a praying premise in shape of square covered by the system of cupolas, has paved the way to create the interior with a special beauty. In 1967, archaeological excavations were conducted around Tekiye and it was restored in the 1970s.
