Dedegunesh sacred place – It is placed in Dedegunesh village’s forest of Shamakhy. The local inhabitants called this tomb “Piri Sultan Dedegunesh”. Dedegunesh was the nickname of the uncle of a poet and thinker lived in the 12 century Afzaladdin Khagani – Kafiaddin Omer inb Osman. Kafiaddin Omer ibn Osman has been the scientist, doctor and philosopher. According to the legend, there had been deposits of cure sulphuros water and mud formerly in Malham village located near Dedegunesh village. Dedegunesh was treating the people with this ointment and that’s why he was called “the sun of the earth and heaven”. The mausoleum consists of two buildings. There are two tombs in one of the rooms. Below mentioned words have been written on the inscription above them: “This mausoleum belongs to Sheikh Mohammad Dedegunesh, the leader of the saints, looking for the truth”. In 1011 year of hijra Dedegunesh has been famous scientist and philosopher. According to the legend he was called “the sun of earth and heaven”. The village’s name is also connected with his name. Dedegunesh was also considered great Sufi scientist. Sufi scientists had to control social ideological matters, try to regulate the ethics.
