Shusha State Musical Drama TheatreShusha State Musical Drama Theatre started to function with the Decision No. 200, dated May 11, 1990 of Soviet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Order No. 192 dated May 25, 1990 of Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.In 1992 Shusha city was occupied and the collective of the theatre moved to Baku and continues its performance in the building of Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators. Since the first day of its establishment, the theatre has enriched its repertoire with classic and contemporary literature of Azerbaijan along with the most beautiful examples of world dramaturgy and has earned the sympathy of theatre lovers with its performance. Shusha Theatre has participated in theatre festivals held in Azerbaijan like “Mono performances” in 1994, “Experimental performances” in 1998, “National classical literature and theatre” in 1999, “Festival of festivals” in 2000 and was awarded “Qizil Dervish” (“Golden Darvish”) prize for the performance of “Let’s sit crooked, talk straight” (“Əyri oturaq, düz danışaq”) by Uzeyir Hajibeyov in 2002.
