Sahil Mud volcanoMud volcanos are distributed unevenly in the territory of Azerbaijan. Their sizes are different – small and large ones and they have played an important role in the formation of present relief of south-east foot of Greater Caucasus, lowland along the Kura River, Baku archipelago, Absheron peninsula and Absheron archipelago. For its geomorphological peculiarities, Absheron region is divided into four parts – north-west, south-west, eastern and the Caspian Sea water area. Keyraki, Zigilpiri, Gobu – Bozdaghi, Guzdak – Bozdaghi and other mud volcanos are located in western zone. South-west zone covers the central and western parts of Absheron peninsula. In this zone, there is the volcano located in Sahil settlement of Garadagh district, the cones of Lokbatan, Gushkhana, Akhtarma and other mud volcanos are raised.
