Green Theatre Concert Complex of BakuGreen Theatre Concert Complex of Baku was built in mid-1960s under the name of Green Theatre with the initiative of then Baku city mayor Alish Lambaranski. Green Theatre is the first open-air art center in the region. The theatre seats 2500 spectators. Cultural workers of foreign countries along with prominent cultural workers of Azerbaijan have performed on the stage of Green Theatre. Memorable episodes of our several films are related with this art center. Some episodes of “Qaynana” (Mother-in-law), “Last day of childhood”, “Where is Ahmad?” and etc. films was filmed in this very place. In the first years of independence of Azerbaijan, Green Theatre like several other cultural centers suffered desolation and stopped its functioning in 1993. In 2005, with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, reconstruction and restoration works started and in 2007 the theatre started functioning anew. The same year, this theatre was named Green Theatre Concert Complex of Baku.
