Baku Municipal Theatre – This theatre was established in 1992 in Amaliya Panahova’s initiative, actress of Azerbaijan. Amaliya Panahova was born in Ganja in 1945. She graduated “Drama and cinema acting” faculty of State Theatre Institute of Azerbaijan named after M. A. Aliyev. She has played more than five hundred roles in theatre and cinema from 1964 up to date. Some of them are Tomris, Natavan, Medeya, Burla Khatun, Mehseti, Larisa, Ofeliya, Linza. One of Amaliya Panahova’s abilities is that she has exceptional skills in organizing and she established Baku Municipal Theatre in 1992. She drew not only middle and older age actors, but also young talented actors and supported them with convenient conditions to develop their creative skills. She is a Presidential Pensioner. Amaliya Alish gizi Panahova was decorated with high award - “Shohret” order by the Decree No. 356 dated July 8, 1995 of honorable Mr. Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for her services for improvement of Azerbaijan national theatre.
