Gadabey district is allocated at middle and high mountain slopes of the Small Caucasus. On the district territory there is allocated the well-known wildlife sanctuary "Gizilcha" and 4 natural monuments - forest massive Govdu, Godakdara, Gamish and Shamlig. The administrative structure of Gadabay region includes one city, 108 villages, 47 administrative-territorial districts. The monuments on the territory of the Gadabay region are an integral part of the culture that entered the history of Azerbaijan under the name Gadabay-Khojaly culture. Gadabay region is one of the oldest human settlements in Azerbaijan. The economy consists mainly of agriculture. The key role in the economy is played by potato growing, animal husbandry and grain growing.
