Three graduates of Baku Higher Oil School were awarded scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to study for a Master's degree at foreign universities.
Thus, graduate of the Chemical Engineering Department Narmin Bakhishova will study for a Master's degree at the University of Hamburg (Germany). Asad Asadli and Sahib Abdullayev, who are also graduates of the above department, will study for a Master's degree at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangan-Nuremberg (Germany).
Their living and educational expenses will be covered by the scholarship program.
It should be noted that Narmin Bakhishova, who graduated from BHOS in 2019, currently works as a junior project engineer at TCM-KT JV Azerbaijan LLC of the Italian group of companies Maire Tecnimont, and Sahib Abdullayev, who also graduated from the Higher School in 2019, works at BP as a process engineer for the Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey region.
Note that three out of the 25 young people who were selected from Azerbaijan to study under the scholarship program are BHOS graduates.
DAAD is an Academic Exchange Service that provides young people with the opportunity to acquire international educational and research experience in Germany and beyond.
Samples of material culture have been discovered in Jalilabad. The historical finds included the remains of the 11th-12th centuries potter's wheel and various household items.
The artifacts were found in the courtyard of Afeddin Mirzoev, a resident of Alar village.

In 2016, scientists revealed an ancient temple during an expedition in Gullutepe village of the region. A lot of jewelry and ancient tools belonging to the Neolithic period were also discovered during the excavations.
The temple is the oldest temple found not only in the territory of Azerbaijan, but in the whole Caucasus.

Aliyev Elnur Ali has been appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Culture.
The decree was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Culture Anar Karimov, acting Minister of Culture.
The head of the ministry’s Information and public relations department Humbatov Intigam Rasul has been dismissed from his current position based on his own application.
Until the last appointment, Aliyev Elnur Ali acted as a trade representative of Azerbaijan in the United Arab Emirates.
In the past years, he also worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2008) and Islamic Development Bank (2008- 2017).
Azerbaijan is keen to enhance cultural ties with other countries. First Deputy Minister of Culture Anar Karimov, acting Minister of Culture, held several meeting aimed at promotion of cultural ties with Turkey and Brazil.
The meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ercan Ozoral discussed prospects of cultural cooperation between the two countries. The parties touched upon expansion of the legal base, exchange of experience and protection of joint cultural heritage.
Anar Karimov stressed that studying Turkey’s experience in the fields of cultural industries, movie, cultural heritage, and museum works is one of the priorities of the Azerbaijan Cultural Ministry.
In his speech, Ercan Ozoral stressed that historically friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are at the forefront of cultural cooperation. He expressed confidence that work would continue in this direction, especially in cultural exchange program, partnership with Turkish International Cooperation and Development Administration (TIKA) on the restoration of cultural heritage and historical monuments.
The sides agreed on restructuring of workings groups of Azerbaijan Cultural Ministry and Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The meeting focused on holding joint cultural events cultural as well as creating of a legal framework for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil.
In conclusion, Anar Karimov thanked Brazilian Ambassador for its support in connection with the inclusion of the historical center of Sheki in the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Khan's Palace within the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Baku last year.

The next season will open with Friedrich Schiller's "Don Carlos" play, bringing together opera stars Anna Netrebko, Ildar Abdrazakov, Yusif Eyvazov, Agunda Kulaeva, Elchin Azizov. Opera lovers have a chance to take a wonderful journey to the past on September 6, 8, 10. "Don Carlos" is a historical tragedy in five acts by Friedrich Schiller, written between 1783 and 1787. The title character is Carlos, Prince of Asturias and the play as a whole is modeled on historical events in the 16th century under the reign of King Philip II of Spain.
Known for his beautiful voice, Yusif Eyvazov is a regular guest at the world’s leading opera houses. His name is included in the book "The Best Tenors of the World". The unique sound of his voice and his vibrant stage presence allow him to combine an active opera career with numerous concert performances.
The opera singer has appeared on numerous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon including a complete recording of Puccini’s "Manon Lescaut" live from the Salzburg Festival and with his spouse, soprano Anna Netrebko’s on the cross-over album "Romanza". In 2017, Yusif Eyvazov was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan.
Elchin Azizov has been a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater since 2008. He has successfully performed in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Iolanta", Sergei Prokofiev's "The Love for Three Oranges", Georges Bizet's "Carmen", Giuseppe Verdi's "Don Carlos" and so on.
He is the winner of the 2nd Prize of the International Opera Singers Contest of Galina Vishnevskaya (2008), and the 4th Prize of the International Opera Singers Contest of Bulbul in Baku (2005).

For the first time at this year's festival, Fikrat Amirov's ballet "One Thousand and One Nights" was presented to the audience.
"One Thousand and One Nights" is a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age. Known in English as the "Arabian Nights", the work is about Scheherazade, a Sassanid Queen, who tells a series of stories to her husband, King Shahryar in order to delay her execution.
The exciting story of Scheherazade laid the foundation of the ballet of the same name. "One Thousand and One Nights" is a ballet in two acts by Fikrat Amirov to a libretto by playwrights Magsud and Rustam Ibragimbayovs.
The libretto is based on episodes from "One Thousand and One Nights".
The ballet was premiered in 1979 at the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater. "A Thousand and One Nights" was staged last year at the Heydar Aliyev Palace in Baku and Kremlin Ballet Theater.
The ballet was highly appreciated by the viewers. Magnificent performance, stage design and colorful costumes won the hearts of the spectators.
The Azerbijani and Turkish national chess teams have participated in an onlinee competition held under the slogan “One nation, two states”.
According to the final results of the six-round competition, the Azerbaijani team defeated the rival team with a score of 26:10.
Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Teymur Rajabov, Gunay Mammadzade, Gulnar Mammadova, Vugar Asadli, Khanim Balajayeva, Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Aydin Suleymanli and Govhar Beydullayeva represented the Azerbaijani team.
Following the competition, the Turkish national team will join the online Olympics on August 15, and the Azerbaijani national team on August 21.
It should be noted that the online chess tournament between Azerbaijani and Turkish national chess teams was held from August 8 to August 10.
The online tournament was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and the Chess Federations of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
