  • Weather forecast for tomorrow announced

    The weather forecast for December 10 in Azerbaijan has been announced.

    Report informs citing the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources that the weather in Baku and Absheron Peninsula will be cloudy and mostly dry. However, it is likely to be foggy at night and in the morning, and rain is predicted in the evening. Mild north-east wind will become northwes in the afternoon.

    The temperature will be +4+6 C at night, +9+11 C in the daytime, in Baku and Absheron Peninsula. Atmospheric pressure will be above the normal - 767 mm mercury column and relative humidity will be 70-80%.

    The weather in Azerbaijani regions will be mainly dry. However, rain is expected in some eastern regions at night and in the morning. Fog will be observed in some places. Western wind will blow.

    The temperature will be +3+7 C at night, +9+13 C in the daytime, in the mountains from -3 degrees of frost to +2 degrees at night, +2+6 C in the afternoon.

    As for the medical-meteorological forecast, the advantage of clean and oxygen-rich air is expected in the Absheron peninsula, which is a positive factor for people sensitive to weather.

    President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of “ASAN Hayat” complex in Shamakhi.

  • Campaign of planting 650,000 trees to be held in all Azerbaijani districts

    A campaign of planting 650,000 trees will be held in all Azerbaijani districts on Dec.6, Trend reports.

    The campaign of planting 650,000 trees during one day on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of Azerbaijani great poet and thinker Imadeddin Nasimi will cover all districts of the country, in accordance with Azerbaijani First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva’s initiative.

    The public figures, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, employees of state and private structures will attend the campaign, aimed at promoting Nasimi’s poetry worldwide, perpetuating his memory, popularizing Azerbaijan’s literary and cultural heritage.

    This many trees will be planted in one day for the first time in Azerbaijan's history.

    All seedlings, namely, Khan's plane tree, Eldar pine, cypress, acacia, ash tree, elm tree, poplar, alder, willow, oleaster, wild pistachio, catalpa, olive tree, fig tree, peach tree, plum tree, apple tree, pomegranate tree, lime tree, plane tree, catalpa and others were grown in 17 hatcheries of the forestry centers and Gardening and landscape design of Azerbaijan OJSC.

  • Georgia launches new business project in Baku

    An office of the largest construction-development holding in Georgia, ORBI Group, was opened in Baku on Dec.5, Trend reports.

    The event was organized by the CEO of the company Irakli Khvedelidze.

    "Our group’s new office was opened in Baku and this is the 56th office of our company abroad. And today, representing Georgian business here, we hope that it will become a bridge for further development of relations with Azerbaijani business," Khvedelidze noted.

    According to him, ORBI Group is the largest real estate company in the region.

    "Our company represents Batumi and I want to note that Baku and Batumi are very similar. During the Rothschilds, the first railway was open between these cities. Our cooperation continues to this day," the director emphasized.

    "Baku is a city of hospitable people, and I am glad to start a business in this country," Khvedelidze said.

    According to the director, he is proud to have contributed to Georgian-Azerbaijani relations.

    President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has viewed conditions created at a newly constructed 44-flat building for the earthquake-affected families in Shamakhi district.

    Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov informed the president of the conducted work.

    President Aliyev viewed conditions created at a flat of Fardar Hasanov.

    The president talked to the family members at the tea table.

    Fardar Hasanov and his mother Khuraman Hasanova thanked the president for his attention and care.

  • Azerbaijani president inaugurates 101-117th km section of Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway

    As part of his visit to Shamakhi district, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of the 101-117th km section of the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani presidential administration.

    Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan Highway State Agency Saleh Mammadov informed President Aliyev of the conducted work.

    The president was also informed of the Gonagkand-Hamyali-Ikinji Chayli-Ikinji Jabani-Jabani road on the 115th km of Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway.

    President Aliyev then cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the highway.

  • President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attend tree-planting campaign in Shamakhi district

    President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended a tree-planting campaign in Shamakhi district.

    Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev informed the head of state and first lady of the campaign.

    A total of 650,000 trees in 37 species will be planted in 83 cities and districts as part of the tree-planting initiative on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi.

    All of the trees have been grown in the nursery gardens of the ministry.

    An e-map of the places where the trees will be planted has been prepared by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

    Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun of Thailand.
