Azerbaijan's traditional gowns has been discussed at the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The foundation's president Gunay Afandiyeva and the head of the Traditional Costumes Center, fashion designer Gulnara Khalilova exchanged views on joint projects aimed at promoting Azerbaijan's rich culture and traditions and the Turkic world as a whole.
Gulnara Khalilova showcased Azerbaijani traditional costumes specially made for the foundation.
Notably, the fashion designer presented her collection dedicated to Karabakh at the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation last November.
The collection, which originates from the epic "Book of Dede Korkut ", embodies the national traditions formed over the centuries.
The traditional costumes reflect 12 historical cities of Karabakh - Aghdam, Aghdara, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavend, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Lachin, Shusha, Zangilan.
The fashion collection celebrates liberation of Azerbaijan's territories previously occupied by Armenian occupants.
Stunning national dresses have been successfully presented not only in Azerbaijan but also abroad.
She also designed costumes for Azerbaijan's 2013 Eurovision representative Farid Mammadov and created a hand panel with the official mascots of the EuroGames.

Khalilova is the author of a number of books dedicated to the history of Azerbaijan national clothing.
In 2014-2015 she worked as a teacher at the State Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2017, she has been teaching at Khazar University.
The designer also heads the Women's Entrepreneurship Development Association.

An exhibition by Azerbaijani artist Orkhan Mammadov will open in New York, Lara Binnet, chief curator of the Blackdove digital art company, told Report.
She said that in the works on display at the exhibition titled "Revival of Aesthetics", Mammadov created a unity of heritage and modernity by combining sketches of Azerbaijani carpets, a symbol of the country's cultural heritage, with artificial intelligence, the latest technology algorithm. Binnet said that nine works of art would be displayed at the exhibition and prominent collectors from New York and the world are invited.
Orkhan Mammadov is one of the artists who combine the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan with the latest technology algorithm. Using the modern artificial intelligence algorithm, he processed tens of thousands of images of traditional Azerbaijani carpets and rugs in Azerbaijani museums and managed to create new boundless combinations based on their similarities. So far, Mammadov has collected more than 150,000 carpet compositions and sketches, combined them with artificial intelligence and created imaginary rugs that have never existed before. Mammadov's exhibitions were held in leading exhibition halls worldwide.
Azerbaijan's cultural heritage will be presented in New York on January 27.
The virtual exhibition will feature nine art pieces which brilliantly combine artificial intelligence and art.
The project is co-organized by Orkhan Mammadov and Lara Binnet originally from Ganja.

In connection with this significant event, the Culture Ministry has launched a new project "Cultural gems of Shusha city".
The project will consist of seven sections for a wide coverage of the city's rich cultural heritage: "Chronicle of Shusha's architecture", "Temple of Azerbaijani music - Shusha", "The hearth of mugham - Shusha", "The school of Karabakh carpet weaving - Shusha", "Literary life of Shusha", "People of Shusha", "Shusha's style of clothing".
Information prepared within the framework of the project will be disseminated on the Internet, including the Culture Ministry's social networks.
Caspian Business Hotel Baku will host Azerbaijan Kids Best Model 2022 on January 29.
"The main goal of the project is to reveal the creative abilities of the younger generation in the fashion industry, present them to the general public, followed by the participation of the best young models in international competitions," said Star Kids Group director Aygun Aliyeva.
Tha fashion event will bring together 97 (4-14 years old) young models, including 46 girls and 51 boys.

Just over a year after the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol, a film based on the events is in the works.
The project, titled “J6” has some big names attached, including writer/director Billy Ray and director Adam McKay.
Billy Ray will direct, choosing to pursue the project after interviewing congress people who were inside the Capitol during the events, as well as Capitol police officers. The script is expected to be sent out to studios shortly while financing is gathered.
Hilal Baydarov's film "When the Persimmons Grew" will be screened in London on January 29.
The film was recognized as the best documentary of the year at the 25th Sarajevo Film Festival and won the Jury Prize at the Visions du Reel Festival.
Baydarov is not only the director of the film, but also the author of the script, the producer, and he himself plays one of the main roles. Maryam Naghiyeva, Vusal Baidarov and other famous actors also starred in the film.
