Baku Culture Center (Palace) named after ShahriyarAccording to the Order of Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 31, 2008, the building of Culture Center of State Security Service was given to this entity. After the capital reconstruction and restoration works the official opening ceremony of the Culture Center took place with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev on March 14, 2009. The building of Culture Center of State Security Service is an example of architecture of XX century. In the place of this building once there was a Polish Catholic Church that was constructed in 1909-1912 years based on the design of Joseph Plosko, a well-known Polish architecture and was destroyed in 1931 according to the instructions of the Bolsheviks. Until it was given to the entity in 2008, the building was the venue of Culture Palace named after Shahriyar under the Baku City Executive Power. After it was given to the entity it began to be called Culture Center of State Security Service and capital reconstruction and restoration works of up-to-date standards started since then. Special attention was given to keeping the unique architectural style of the building that got quite a new look after the reconstruction. Culture Center equipped with high quality sound and light equipment has concert saloon for 352 guests, small hall for 100 guests, conference hall and restaurant for 120 guests. Entering the building guests first meet the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer and the exposition composed of the photos that are demonstrated for the first time taken from National Archive of Azerbaijan Republic and archive of State Security Service.
